Never is... A big word
When I have more structual stuff done for repo.sc, we can definetly revisit the idea of foreign sources and newly appeared/unteusted sources.

One partiularly big problem we have right now is that a down'ed source can cause delay for other sources to update. For example, for the last week or so, I've been having a hardtime accessing iphone.org.hk repo from both home and server, as such it caused delays in the update script, because curl timeout is not handled by an exception catcher that I've incorrectly implemented... Ive fixed the bug now, I think, but I can't really test it properly until another source goes down... And we don't want that now, do we? (no, we don't)

When the infrastructure is setup properly, to handle down'ed sources and stuff, we can look into possibilities of "anti-virus" for packages, which I already have an idea for, and them we can allow people to contribute sources freely. But that's still quite a bit to go, so please bare with me in the mean time

On a side semi related note, it would seem that iappcat is a little bit ahead of us on this aspect, as their tracker can track server outages and things of that nature... I should rush through my school project and get right back coding here to catch up, hehe.

Hehe... well, don't flub through the project just to get back to coding. I'm sure you'll get it all sorted in due time. Besides. iAppCat isn't the nicest looking place to visit.

Wait until I get the touchups done I'm meeting up with a designer I know some time next week for a contract to get repo.sc a facelift. That one will set me back a bit (let's just say, I'm not getting a new pair of headphones anymore >_<), but hey, I can always see about keeping the option to "recycle" that design for other sites, too

...and I just found out the "fix" I put in for down'ed servers doesn't really work when the admin decide to throw a 404 page in return... gar... I'll figure out how to fix that one later..

Sounds pretty sweet -- looking forward to the redesign. I'm sure it will be worth it, though I know how putting off a nice set of cans can be a hard decision to make. (I've been putting off replacing my mostly-dead Shure E3s in favour of the 32 gig Touch, even though I really want a new set of Shures.)

I'm actually debating on whether or not to hire him for a full branding job, or pay him for consultation sessions instead. Both are going to be fairly expensive, considering that he is doing this professionally, and only helping me out because I'm local and I have some technical assets that I can offer favor back in return down the road.

As for my headphones, as I've commented on your blog entry, I am currently using Yamaha YHD-3... which is almost as old as myself... So I could definetly use a new one. I was looking along the lines of ATH-ESW9, or ATH-W1000 from Audio Technica. But from the looks of it, I won't have money for them soo :S

I'll update back when I do decide what I'm gonna do with it...
