You probably noticed new ad placement by now... If not, then congratulations, you are probably active enough in the community to not see them (then the rest of this post probably doesn't apply to you as much). If you still don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about these ads:

I'm trying out alternative methods of displaying the ads so that they are more noticable. Appearently, the current placement -- after first post for guests, and at the bottom of all listing pages -- doesn't seem to get them noticed enough. Google even wrote me a long message giving me advice on how to place the ads at more prominent places!
Anyways, I'm all for seemingly ad-less service. So here's the deal. We'll keep the ads away if you remain active on the forum. Simple as that. Currently, I've configured it so that it won't show up if you make a post once every 3 days. That's not too hard, think about it, that works out to only around 2 posts a week. I'm sure most of us chat with people more than that on a daily basis... And if you don't make the posts, its not the end of the world... because, hey, its just an extra ad you can ignore, right?
For the record though, do
NOT click on the ads unless you are really intersted in its contents. Advertisers hates that... because you're wasting their bandwidth, making everyone else who's actually interested in their service load their page slower; thinking you're helping someone -- IE: me -- when they're/I'm not getting paid for fradulent clicks. That will also lead to serious problems with me getting in trouble for contract violation and things like that... you won't want that now would you? ...oh, and clicking on it will not make it go away, if you don't care about me, and only wondered whether or not it will go away...
I promise you guys though, I won't ever stick ads down your throat. Maximum two to three ad blocks per page, depending on what Google recommends next and things like that; I'll try to make sure that they're mostly text based, because text ones load up qucikly and doesn't give you seizure with flashing colors; Never popups, popunders, fly-in, or anything ridiculously annoying like that -- if you notice them, please let me know the page you're on and the ad sources so I can go end the advertiser agreement -- because they're ridiculously annoying...
