Default Package Issue

Earlier today, I was trying to track down a broken package that is causing some people to have problem loading their personalized repository. I was able to track down the broken package, which was a package that was already removed from the original source. The intended step is to remove the package from our database, so it does not cause problems for other people, too. However, I clicked the wrong button and deleted the table housing information about all packages instead of deleting the package itself. I've since quickly restored the table, and repopulated it with information from an earlier backup, as well as manually triggered the crawler to re-index repositories. However, a few problems surfaced which may or may not have affected your personalized repository. I will list them here:
1) Due to Asian language encoding issues, the backup restore broke most packages containing non-Western-European text (IE: things that are not abc). I was forced to delete a lot of packages with Chinese categories, so if you had any packages that were in Chinese categories, you will need to re-add the newly indexed entries.

2) Due to packages being added at different times, a lot of packages now have different package IDs. Package IDs are used to track your selection, and so, you may notice new packages that you did not select appear in your personalized source, and you may also notice old packages that you did select went missing. Unfortunately, there's no easy way around this, and you will need to remove the packages that were changed, and re-select those packages that went missing. Due to the large amount of dataloss, I am also unable to provide information as to which packages were affected by this.

I understand that this creates a lot of inconvenience for everyone, and I am terribly sorry about it. I have modified the interface so the delete buttons are no longer on the same page; I will also make sure problems like this does not occur again in the future. If you would like me to clean your tracked packages, so you can re-select all packages instead of manually doing that, please let me know via helpdesk. I will try to process it as soon as possible in the order received. Please note that as I am working with 5600+ people about this, so there may be a bit of delay before I get back to you on that, but I will aim to have everything completed within 12 hours of receiving the request.

Thanks.
I'm still sorting through the aftermath right now... There are some packages doubling up because apparently the restore did not include the unique indices which we had before... If you're seeing multiple packages for the same name and everything, ignore it for now and select only one of them... either one should do. I'm writing a script to merge the packages with the latest one right now.

It shouldn't be.
The problem above deleted all packages in our database, and fetched the new ones again as if things were never there...

Package download failed is very cryptic error that doesn't explain a whole lot... Please use the helpdesk link on top to open a new ticket for me... I'll walk you through the process of debugging that error.
