First thing first, don't panic.... there is usually a fix for these things.
Next, try and see what version of Installer you're using... You can find out this by going to the "About" button on the top right of Installer's home screen. If you're using anything fairly recent (IE: 3.0+), then what you can do is try to select any package, to pretend you're installing it, but instead of clicking install, try to select clear queue.
Sometimes, rebooting the device completely (Hold hold button until red slider, slide it, click hold button and wait for it to power up) would also resolve silly issues such as this.
