It's simple, actually. In really over simplified way to explain it:
1) repo.sc have installer running on a server.
2) repo.sc keeps track of packages from the 40 some sources we currently track, see:

3) You pick and choose from repo.sc's list of packages:
Touch Toolset - repo.sc
4) You add your personalized source ( get it from
Touch Toolset - Your Repo Link ) to installer (and remove the 40 some sources we currently track)
5) Your installer shows only the packages you selected, and you load 40 some lesser sources, making installer run quickly

6) Because repo.sc's installer runs every 10 minutes, and checks selected sources (it spreads out the 40 some sources over an hour period), your personalized source will also be updated when new packages are made available; see:
